Lee Basquin

High School Counselor

Born a Steelers fan in Pittsburgh PA, Lee Basquin and his family relocated to Moorpark California as a small child. His mother, a school teacher, and his father, an attorney, encouraged exploring all  things things that interested him. Lee developed a love for the performing arts and education at an early age. 

Surrounded by the entertainment industry as a youth, Lee could not help be drawn to television and movie sets. In high school, Lee joined several acting groups and studied screen acting from several acting coaches and mentors, in addition to playing football. 

Post high school, Lee earned his bachelor's degree in film. While earning his degree he worked on sets and acted in several projects, as well as worked with several startups on their marketing plans. 

Post college, Lee found himself working with companies in size from startup to one of the largest companies in the world. In 2007, Lee was recruited by a production company to move to SLC, UT to help develop and write feature films. During this time, Lee traveled back in forth to Washington DC helping fund raise for several congressional members. In 2010, after judging several DECA events, Lee decided to get his Master’s Degree in School Counseling. Seeing his Mother help others as a teacher, Lee was moved to make a career change and focus on helping others. Lee comes to Real Salt Lake Academy with over four years of counseling experience from kindergarten to twelfth grade. 

In his spare time, Lee continues to work on film projects, help people buy and sell homes and most importantly, spend time with his wife and two beautiful daughters.  Lee is excited to serve the students, faculty and families of Real Salt Lake Academy.
