Tyler Johnson

Mr. Johnson will be teaching math and helping to coach the boys teams this year at Real Salt Lake Academy High School. He received his degree in Math Education from BYU-Idaho and did his student teaching at Herriman High School, which is the same high school that he graduated from. Mr. Johnson was born and raised in Valencia, California until his senior year of High school when he moved to Herriman. Although the move was not easy, Mr. Johnson will tell you that it was the best thing that could have happened for his future. Immediately after graduating from high school Mr. Johnson moved to Mexico City where he lived for 2 years. In those two years he learned how to speak spanish and embraced the culture that he experienced. Mr. Johnson still claims to speak spanish but does not practice it nearly as much as he should and has lost much of his accent. However, he has found it a great tool in working with his students who are native spanish speakers.
